Originally a men’s magazine, called “Dress” the publication was purchased in 1913 by Conde Montrose Nast (ring a bell?) and renamed, “Dress and Vanity Fair.” In 1935 however, as a result of the great Depression, the magazine was closed and combined with Vogue Magazine, also owned by the same enigmatic publishing genius – Mr. Nast.
In 1981 that the magazine returned to the masses of Magazine readers as more simply just, “Vanity Fair.”. This fact makes the original prints, from “Dress and Vanity Fair” 1920s cover art, photographs and periodicals priceless pieces of history. Artly Vintage has hand picked the Vanity Fair cover art and advertising from these 1920s versions of the now Vintage Magazine and revived it through artistic illustration to create high resolution, vintage art prints for reproduction as posters, canvas prints or post cards.
