Heey Wayback Vintage Friday! These back and white vintage pinup photos were taken in the 1920s in Los Angeles, CA at the Los Angeles Alligator Farm (the WORLD’S LARGEST ALLIGATOR FARM!) – I thought that must be in Florida, but I stand corrected. These actual vintage photographs can be found at the Los Angeles Public Library – so see the originals for yourself if you’re in the LA area! The area is part of the Lincoln Heights neighborhood and feature our fave Vintage Pinup style models cozying up to REAL Alligators! Either the alligators were nicer back then or the regulations/fear induced by the creatures is a complete fabrication of modern society. Oh to have been part of the simpler times, black and white fashion-ography (yes, I made up a word just now), when alligators were not scary but simply lunch party friends and ironic photo props – Either way, Vintage Pin-up, Black and White Photography, Fashion, Irony and the ‘surprise’ factor – I’ll take it any day of the week. But especially on FRIDAY! Happy Friday everyone!
